Most young people’s lives are hectic. They all involve a degree of chaos, and the usual trials and tribulations of friendships, romance, college, and so on. Add the diabetes into the mix, with its unique challenges, and the situation can feel overwhelming. On this site you can learn more about selfmanagement and the great advances of visiting a diabetes camp. Read more here

“It’s important for youth to speak out on living with diabetes. Successfully dealing with diabetes takes more than balancing insulin, food, and exercise – it takes a lot of support and a positive attitude.”

“I learned that I should never give up, that I could overcome any obstacle and I could make my dreams come true and also help others overcome this disease.”

“My first doctor was not good at seeing me as a person who happened to have diabetes, he only saw the diabetic.  My hope is that DAWN Youth will help support other people with diabetes like myself.”

“Diabetes does not represent a barrier between me and my objectives even if my road is now uphill.”
