Objectives
This international DAWN project, called the MIND project (Monitoring Individual Needs in persons with Diabetes) aims to implement monitoring of well-being as integral part of ongoing outpatient care for people with diabetes as recommended in evidence-based clinical guidelines, and to evaluate its impact on the care process and clinical outcomes.
Based on research to date and clinical experience, it is expected that this procedure will foster active patient participation and the recognition, discussion and management of psychosocial issues relevant to diabetes, thereby improving patients’ satisfaction with care and quality of life.
